Red Baron
One of the most famous Unlimiteds of all. Built in the late 70s by the late Ed Browning, it was the first of the racing P-51s to be fitted with a Griffon engine and counter rotating props. Won in 1977 with Darryl Greenamyer as its’ pilot and again in 1978 with Steve Hinton at the controls. Was destroyed in a spectacular crash in the 1979 race after losing the engine. Miraculously, Steve Hinton survived.
